About OvenJustice

From briefs to bread.

OvenJustice is a one-person, small-batch bakery in Mumbai built on long fermentation, thoughtful flavour, quality ingredients, and getting things just right.

Our story

Good bread, made slowly and with care

OvenJustice started with a slightly unexpected career change. Juhi is a lawyer by training, and graduated into the strange world of Covid. Somewhere along the way, the law took a backseat and baking took over.

What started as a kitchen experiment became a serious obsession with fermentation, flavour, good ingredients, and getting things just right. There is no factory line here, no mass production, and very little room for good enough.

Most things are made to order, in small batches, using ingredients Juhi would happily use in her own kitchen. The sourdough gets a leisurely 36 hour slow proof because good bread, much like good arguments, takes time.

The menu moves with the seasons and with what feels worth baking: sourdough, cookies, rolls, cheesecakes, crackers, and other sweet and savoury things from the oven.

Small batches. Long fermentation. One baker who cares a lot.

OvenJustice is about taking the time to make things properly, choosing ingredients thoughtfully, and keeping the process personal.
